Our helpful design consultants will understand whether a planning permit will be required with the council in most instances. If it is required, we handle the application process and the cost of the application is included in your fixed price quotation.
When making significant changes to property within the Melbourne City Council's jurisdiction, it is essential to be aware of the planning permit process. Generally, the process begins with the applicant or their representative lodging an application form and accompanying documents which are then checked for completeness by a Council Planner. If further information is required, this will be requested.
Once determined to accept, the application will be advertised for comment from adjacent landowners and consideration in a committee meeting. We may engage an external town planning consultancy to assist in your application and we design with success in mind.
In Melbourne, building a new property structure or changing an existing one can require approval from the local council. Depending on the size and scope of the project, there may be fees associated with any planning application. Our friendly design consultants can guide you through the council planning process if it applies to your situation.
In the course of issuing a building permit, the Registered Building Surveyor needs to consider all aspects of the project to ensure it complies with both council and Rescode requirements. We design with this in mind to ensure delays and reworks are minimised, allowing us to get on with building your home.
