Yes. If you are adding significant extensions to your home, you must obtain a permit issued by the registered building surveyor. This is the last step in the process before construction commences. Additionally, if you add elements to your home, such as flood overlays or strata tiles, council approval may also be required. This is called planning permission.
Normally, our clients can stay in their properties during an extension or home renovation project. However, if we cannot grant you safe access to major areas of your home, such as the bathroom or kitchen, you may need to find temporary accommodation elsewhere. We will do our best to cause the least disruption possible.
