Professional small builder/renovator
The home had all the potential of being an ideal family home, but the clients knew it would require an extension to increase the floorplan and afford them the comfort of contemporary living.
New contemporary ground floor extension featuring open plan kitchen, dining, living and main bathroom with European laundry. Modification of existing to create a third bedroom.
This Victorian terrace in Coburg, after a decade's ownership was well and truly overdue for an extension and renovation.
The home had all the potential of being an ideal family home, but the clients knew it would require an extension to increase the floorplan and afford them the comfort of contemporary living. Renovations were also required to restore the Victorian’s features to its former glory, inside and out.
Having spent time with an architect planning and designing their project, clients were ready to source a builder to manage the build. On recommendation by good friends who had used Supa Group they reached out.
After an initial consultation with the Design Consultant, they were dismayed that the plans did not suit their budget, but after further discussions about their brief and requirements the Consultant was able to deliver a new design that not only matched their budget but met all their needs and expectations.
The ‘Design and Build’ option provides early cost certainty and a single point of contact from start to completion providing a more transparent and seamless experience.
First step was to demolish the kitchen, laundry and bathroom at the rear and a new concrete slab was laid providing thermal efficiency.
Part of the living area made way for a third bedroom /multi-purpose room and the new extension boasted a beautiful spacious monochrome bathroom that was dramatic in its pairing of round and square tiles with the timber vanity adding a final touch of warmth to the bold design.
Compact but deceptively spacious the new open plan kitchen dining and living area was infused with personality in its design and elements.
The kitchen featured open shelving with joinery in a mixture of light natural timber and pristine white joinery, harmoniously tied together with the herringbone tiled splash back in a soft hue of green.
Due to the orientation of the new extension, skylights were factored into the design offering an abundance of natural light.
Externally, the new addition used a James Hardies Scyon Axon vertical cladding with a smooth finish that was slick and modern with access to the quaint alfresco via a wide stacker door.
Years of neglect had taken its toll on some of the original Victorian features. Respectfully renovating the home, the corbelled arches and mouldings were restored consistent with the original architectural style adding grandeur to the hallway.
Freshly painted and revitalized with a new Colorbond roof, this Victorian terrace with its bright blue front door not only has a new lease on life but is a lovely home for the family who live there.
